God created vikings, who dreamt about reaching the white centrifugal orb in the sky, which is not actually a "moon" as we foolishly call it, but rather an Apple Pie. However, they were unable to do as such, their wives not staying in the kitchen like they were supposed to. And so they waieted for years, until Sho Minamimoto went through with his phrase "I'll drop the freaking moon", allowing the vikings to finally reach their goal. They then proceeded to jump over the Giant Pie, their awesomely blue paint spilling over the moon, causing the paint to shoot up into the sky.
And that is why the sky is blue.
